For fans of Deepika Padukone, production company Vyjayanthi Movies has made a heartbreaking announcement. The sequel to Kalki 2898 AD will not feature her.

"This is to formally announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD," they wrote on Twitter. We have made the decision to part ways after giving it some thought.

Additionally, the tweet seemed a bit too critical, as though it accused Deepika of not committing fully to the position. "We failed to establish a collaboration despite the protracted process of producing the first movie. And a movie like @Kalki2898AD is worthy of that dedication and more. We hope she does well in her future endeavours.

Deepika co-starred in Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani. Deepika played a crucial part in the film and was anticipated to play the lead in the follow-up.
