Today, the Election Commission will provide the polling schedule for five states.

The Election Commission will announce the assembly polls schedule for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The Election Commission of India is poised to release the long-awaited timetable for assembly elections in five states today. The vote schedule for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram will be announced in a news conference at 12 p.m. by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.
The announcement will include the dates for various stages of the election process, such as nomination filing, polling days, and results declaration.

Last Friday, the Election Commission convened a meeting of observers and instructed them to verify that the threat of money power is effectively managed. General, police, and spending observers for the assembly elections in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana attended the conference.

In an official statement, the Commission stated that the Chief Election Commissioner, while speaking at a briefing meeting for observers to be deployed for the upcoming elections, directed the commission's observers to ensure a level playing field by working in a coordinated manner to ensure free, fair, and inducement-free elections.

Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly' tenure are due to finish on various days in January 2024, while the Mizoram Legislative Assembly's term will end on December 17 this year. While the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) governs Telangana, the BJP governs Madhya Pradesh. The Congress governs Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, while the Mizo National Front governs the northeastern state.

With the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 only a few months away, the approaching assembly elections will not only shape the political landscape at the state level, but will also have ramifications at the national level. Political parties have been aggressively preparing for forthcoming elections, which are likely to be high-stakes clashes in some areas.
